We often receive inquiries from customers for LED light strips, but because we are not familiar with the specifications and terms of LED light strips, it often takes a long time to explain to customers before they can understand. In response to this phenomenon, the following will explain and share the 5 commonly used specifications of Shenzhen LED strips, and also for the reference of purchasing friends:


LED size:

1, 0603, 0805, 1210, 5050 refer to the light-emitting elements used on the LED strips-the size of the LED (English/Metric), the following is a detailed introduction of these specifications:

a. 0603: Converted to metric system is 1005, which means that the length of the LED element is 1.0mm and the width is 0.5mm. The industry abbreviation is 1005, and the English name is 0603.

b. 0805: Converted to metric system is 2125, which means that the length of the LED component is 2.0mm and the width is 1.25mm. The industry abbreviation is 2125, and the British system is called 0805.

c. 1210: converted to metric system is 3528, which means that the length of the LED component is 3.5mm and the width is 2.8mm. The industry abbreviation is 3528, and the English name is 1210.

d. 5050: This is the metric system, which means that the length of the LED component is 5.0mm and the width is 5.0mm. The industry is referred to as 5050.


Number of LED lights:

15 lights, 30 lights, 60 lights refer to how many LED components are welded per meter length of the LED strip. Generally speaking, the 1210 specification strip has 60 LEDs per meter, and the 5050 specification strip has 30 LEDs per meter. Special There are 60 LEDs per meter. The price of LED strips with different LED quantities is different, which is also an important factor to distinguish the price of LED strips.


Color temperature:

1. Color temperature refers to heating a standard black body. When the temperature rises to a certain level, the color starts to change from deep red-light red-orange-white-blue. When a light source is the same color as the black body, we will change the color of the black body. The absolute temperature is called the color temperature of the light source. Generally speaking, color temperature is not used as an indicator for evaluating LED light strips, but many foreign customers will make a special requirement due to the use environment.


2. The color temperature of the light source is different, and the light color is also different:

a. The color temperature is below 3300K, and the light color is reddish to give a warm feeling; it has a stable atmosphere and a warm feeling. It is commonly called warm color temperature.

b. The color temperature is in the middle of 3000-6000K, and people have no particularly obvious visual psychological effects under this hue, and there is a refreshing feeling; therefore, it is called "neutral" color temperature

c. The color temperature exceeds 6000K, and the light color is bluish, giving people a cool feeling. It is commonly called cold color temperature.


Brightness: cd (candela)

The basic unit of luminous intensity, candela is one of the basic units of the International System of Units. Generally, different colors of LED lights have different luminous intensities. The common unit is mcd, which is millicandela. The higher the value, the greater the luminous intensity, that is, the brighter. This is an important indicator for evaluating the brightness of LED strips. The higher the brightness requirements, the more expensive the strips. This is because high-brightness LED chips are more expensive, and the higher the brightness, the more difficult the packaging.


Beam angle:

This refers to the light-emitting angle of the LED components on the LED strip. Generally, the light-emitting angle of the general-purpose SMD LED, that is, the SMD component, is 120 degrees. The larger the light-emitting angle, the better the astigmatism effect, but the relative brightness of the light is also reduced. The light-emitting angle is small, the intensity of the light is increased, but the range of illumination will be reduced. Therefore, another important indicator for evaluating LED strips is the light-emitting angle. Nowadays, there are some bad manufacturers on the market. In order to increase the brightness of the light and earn higher profits, they deliberately reduce the angle of light. If they are not careful, they will buy such shoddy components.


Voltage:

This refers to the input voltage of the LED strip. The commonly used specification is DC 12V, and some are 24V.
